Olympians brothers Šici invited to participate in Family Health Day 30 May Print

  Vancouver Olympic medalists, Andris and Juris Šici invited to participate in Family Health Day, which will take place in Riga, May 30th at Esplanade park. During the event the whole family free of charge will have the opportunity to carry out various health check tests, participate in various physical activities to improve health, as well as meet our Olympians.

The event will also participate in the Vancouver XXI Olympic Games - May Field, Mārtiņš Rubenis, Inārs Kivlenieks, twin crew Oskars Gudramovičs un Pēteris Kalniņš, and indeed, Olympic medalists, Andris and Juris Šici. Anyone will be able to view the luge, sports equipment, to participate in the various relay races, as well as get our Olympic autographs.

Family Health Day will start at. 12.00 and its framework will be set up several "stations" where everyone free will perform a variety of health measurements and try different activities:

  • asinsspiediena mērīšana;
  • holesterīna līmeņa mērīšana;
  • glikozes līmeņa asinīs mērīšana;
  • ĶMI (ķermeņa masas indekss) noteikšana;
  • bērnu fiziskās attīstības noteikšana;
  • mobilā Lācīša Ķepainīša slimnīca -  bērniem tā būs lieliska iespēja iepazīties ar ārsta darbu neparastā atmosfērā un pārvārēt savas bailes no poliklīnikas apmeklējumiem;
  • mobilais cigarešu apmaiņas punkts;
  • stājas novērtēšana, pareiza stāja un tās profilakse - vingrinājumi stājas uzlabošanai;
  • Latvijas Kamaniņu sporta federācijas stafetes;
  • nūjošanas apmācība un „Gymstick” piederumu lietošanas apmācība mājās vai darba vietās;
  • stafetes un spēles visai ģimenei.

Family Health Day organized by the Latvian National Sports Association and the Latvian Medical Students' Association to encourage people to pay attention to your loved ones and your health as well as educate and inform about the importance of physical activity and opportunities for improving health.
