On September 11 at at Riga's St. Peter's Church was held prayer and concert „You Are Not Alone". Its aimed is to bring people together in Latvia and beyond in a prayer for one another and the difficulties we experience each day.

September 11, 2001 is not a date before which pain, suffering and the bitterness of loss did not exist. But this date shows us how fragile our life is, that in a time when we declare the power of our technology, this same technology can also be turned against us.

After September 11, our viewpoint on the power of this technology has turned to one of suspicion, and when travelling by metro, train, or plane, we try to look closely at the people around us, and often this gaze, which was previously peaceful, has become full of suspicion and distrust. We are all mutually connected and dependent on each other's work, attitudes, and emotions, and this means that we are not alone.

It is important to realise that we are not only connected by these things, but also by the One above, He who has given us life, the ability to feel, to love.

We cannot in one moment change a world in which there is so much violence and so many lies, but we can change our attitude to those around us, sharing the love which God gave us in that moment when we first appeared in our mother's womb. Already then he placed his love in us, the love he wanted us to share.

We will pray for all those who have experienced pain, suffering or loss. We will pray for those who are no longer with us, who for various reasons have left this world before their time.

But it is important to understand that we are here in church not only to pray, but also to give praise to God, who has given us everything, and Who heals all our wounds.

Therefore, we have been joined at the event by priests of several confessions and musicians.

Priests: The Reverend Sandis Ratnieks of the Dome Evangelical Lutheran Church, The Reverend Ivo Pavlovičš of the Pēterupe Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Reverend Edgars Mažis of the Agenskalns Baptist Congregation.

Musicians: The wonderful ''Luar'' ensemble of the Jāzepa Vītola Music Academy, Gundega Dūda with the LELB Youth Centre Gospel Choir, The "Draugi" ("Friends") Combined Symphony Orchestra of the Baldone and Vecumnieki music and art schools, Soloist Gita Zvirgzdiņa and Maestro (Trumpeter) Aivars Krūmiņš

Entry to the event was by donation. The money collected will grant an opportunity to pupils from the Gaisma Special Boarding School to take part in a project at the Circus School in Germany.
